It sounds to me that the poster “A source close to building F” is much closer to management than they let on. This kind of unsigned post is designed to create fear among the workers. But let’s consider that this is a legitimate post from a furloughed FA who has a friend of a friend. If they are correct fifty percent of us will be let go. The fifty percent of us who are left will have wages so low and work rules so draconian; will it be a job worth keeping? The terms they want to impose upon us would make us worse off than all the other legacy carriers. Look at the regional carriers, they work them like dogs, pay them peanuts and the turnover rate is astounding. Our futures may not even lie in our own hands. The other labor groups at this company said it would not be worth working here under the terms the company is attempting to impose upon them. I don’t believe the company could operate for more than a few days if one or more groups strike. They would need employees who were dedicated and willing to go the extra mile but even now morale is so low I can’t imagine they could inspire many under those circumstances. They are not building a company here, they are chasing a dollar. But why should we fear? I suggest, prepare for the worst. Update your resumes. Start making contacts for employment. Get your financial affairs in order (if they are not already). If you have a fallback plan in place you are that much less dependant upon them. Back to the poster, what was their motivation? They are anonymous on this board, a “new” poster on the pfaawatch, and have not posted on AverageJoeInc who screens his members to keep Management and Union Officers from posting anonymously. So consider the source.
